Unconventionality returns to continue its journey. Ayelen Parolin superimposes Dadaist mockery on the amusing “simplemindedness” of her previous work and moves away from the imperative of consistency. This does not mean that it is without reflection or challenges – it involves the identification of support points in the creative process that allow random things to happen. Zonder (working title) originates from the seminal and even symbiotic contrast between simplicity and complexity: break/connect, deconstruct/reconstruct, contaminate/degrade. “I’d like this creation to nestle where notions of exaltation, exuberance and excess converge. I have a desire to orchestrate choreographic disorder and develop an absurd and extravagant ritual in which music and rhythm will play a key role, liberating the performers from their “thoughts” and allowing them to become immersed in the irrational and unexpected.
