For this piece, Miet Warlop, a visual artist and director whose art takes possession of the stage using movement, recalls painful personal memories, bringing them to the stage with exuberance and humour. Infinite tiny variations in tonality and rhythm are grafted onto the motif of One Song, a song of mourning and life co-written with Jeroen Olyslaegers. Propelled through it in a way that is both testing and galvanising, the small society composed of twelve performers turns this concert/performance into a race to seek new challenges, a dishevelled ode to a vital impulse, to everyday battles, a virtuoso bravura piece that is laid back at the same time. A Requiem in which time has passed, softening wounds without healing them, a celebration of desires, an exorcism of sorrows, a sublimation of effort in which sport and art blend together to the point of taking delight in the absurd.
