Accompany Class is a morning training offered for the freelance dance community in Brussels. We are a group of freelance artists coming together to do this thing called 'morning class'. We are not quite sure what this is anymore ... We no longer work through companies and we no longer have a clear idea of what to train. From this place of not knowing, we have come together and organised a rotational-system in which we will facilitate ‘class/training’ for and with each other. We ‘teach’ a ‘class’ (or facilitate a space) in order to counteract the structurelessness that comes with being a freelancer, to support each other by coming together and sharing training.
This is not a space for pedagogical promotion or professional advancement, but a place for the local scene to come together and train. A way to start the day together and sweat (potentially) together and go on with your emails. This is a self-organised space by us and for us, of low stakes and low ambition. You are welcome to join this space and it is also for you. Accompany class is an ongoing project with no fixed home so thanks to Charleroi Danse for gifting us space for this week. Attendance is free of charge, but we have a donation box if participants feel they can contribute something.
